Goshen, in collaboration with the Hollywood Police Department, presented its first “Love One Another” concert at the Hollywood Palladium on August 24, 2002. The facility was generously donated to us by its owner, Alan Shuman. The show was a smash success thanks to our singers, dancers, and celebrity guests. Much love to them!

Goshen's live entertainment shows are called “Love One Another” because our motto is “Love One Another...It Begins With You and Me.” We believe that love does conquer all and that it has the power to heal all. It's the only solution for reversing society's descent onto self-destruction. It's the only way to turn around the lives of our youth. They're crying out for attention. If we adults would just listen, we'd hear these cries. We also would begin to grasp the words of the late Princess Diana: “I think the biggest disease this world suffers from in this day and age is the disease of people feeling unloved, and I know that I can give love for a minute, for half an hour, for a day, for a month, but I can give. I'm very happy to do that and I want to do that.”

Loving one another starts at home. FAMILY is the foundation of our society. If the family is in trouble, so is our society. The condition of our children is the reflection of our families. The seeds we plant today harvest fruitful families and a solid, healthy generation for tomorrow. Secure families produce secure children who grow up to be secure adults. This in turn leads to a secure society.

Our Love “Love One Another” concerts feature well-known celebrities along with hot, young talent. Together they offer an exciting, upbeat mix of music, dance, comedy and inspirational first-person stories of triumph over adversity. These performers demonstrate to their peers that it's “cool” to lead a clean, positive life, set higher standards, and overcome all odds. One can prevail and prosper no matter how difficult and challenged their past has been.

Bre'sha
BRE'SHA

The vocal group, Bre'sha (above) delivers a moving rendition of the Goshen concert song “Everybody.” Its message is that change “begins with you and me.” According to an old proverb, “A long journey begins with a small step.” Once a person takes this step, they discover that life's doors swing open for them and offer unlimited possibilities. Our young people can't open these doors all by themselves. They need a guiding hand from caring adults. When such adults say to a young person, “I believe in you,” it makes all the difference. It gives that young person the self-confidence they need to believe in themselves. Once they believe, they can achieve.

Our concerts serve to remind people of the importance of encouragement. Someone said: “People have a way of becoming what you encourage them to be - not what you nag them to be.” Our young people don't need to be nagged, they need to be encouraged. Adults need it, too. The best way to build bridges is to encourage one another. Because when we encourage one another, we bring out the best in one another.

Captain Michael Downing of the Hollywood Police says, ”Anything we can do to channel the energy of our Youth Programs will be an investment well spent for the future of our communities.” Goshen agrees. Which is why we seek to work with existing model programs that have a good track record of achieving productive results. It's an effective way of showing young people that they have choices. These programs teach kids that there are positive alternatives to a self-defeating life of gangs, prostitution, crime, violence, drugs, suicide, depression, and anger.
